Alexander Hertel-Fernandez is Herbert H. Lehman Professor of Government at Columbia University. His research examines the political economy of American democracy, with a focus on labor, business, and the design of power-shifting policy.
Sophie Jacobson
Sophie Jacobson is a Research Fellow at Columbia University and studies the political consequences of economic insecurity and public policy in Americans' lives. She holds a PhD in Political Science from Yale University.

Sam Berger is a former government official who has served in the Obama and Biden Administrations, including most recently as Associate Administrator of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Office of Management and Budget and as Director of Strategic Operations and Policy for the White House COVID-19 Response Team.
